A Future Care Needs and Costs Analysis is a care plan that itemizes client-specific goods and services considered reasonable and necessary for the client's recovery of health and independence, and prevention of potential complications. Based on a review of past and present medical and functional status the analysis provides a summary of therapeutic modalities, attendant care and case management services, medical follow-up, equipment needs, supplies, prescriptive medications, housing needs, housekeeping and property maintenance services, and vocational services required for the individual with a traumatic injury. Recommendations are then itemized by purpose, replacement schedules, and costs according to present day values.
A Present and Future Homemaking and Housekeeping Needs Analysis evaluates an individual's reduced capacity to engage in all aspects of homemaking in the future. The Occupational Therapist carefully determines the nature of and time spent on homemaking tasks before and since the onset of disease or injury. Then, on the basis of a functional analysis of the client's abilities, the Occupational Therapist establishes the impact of his or her residual limitations in this area. Recommendations on the hours and the type of replacement services are then made and quantified.
A Loss of Services Analysis is used in cases of wrongful death. This is an evaluation of the loss suffered by each member of the household with regard to homemaking and housekeeping services that had been provided by the deceased.
The Occupational Therapist gives careful consideration to the actual time spent by the deceased as well as to statistical averages related to homemaking. The actual financial loss of housekeeping services are then calculated through examination of replacement costs for these services.
Our experienced and certified Occupational Therapists prepare all reports with the requisite attention to detail necessary for provision of expert testimony.
